  • Jimi Hendrix

I just remembered that it was 40 years ago today that Hendrix died. I still remember hearing the news that Friday in high school. Hard to believe he would only be 67.

Scary how fast the years go by. I graduated from HS in 1970, so I was very well aware of this... And Janis Joplin died just before or after Hendrix did...

You did not miss anything at Woodstock. I was there. Nothing going on. Of course, I was there in 1988.

Talk about contrasting the ridiculous and the sublime!!
[not that I didn't have several Monkee albums and watch every episode of the show!]

Great commercial for Pepsi on the 25th anniversary of Woodstock in 1994. All the now yuppies getting off the buses with golf clubs, and Bermuda shorts, and suits on. Then John Sebastian and Joe (of Country Joe & the Fish) get off the bus. Sebastian looks around, and says, "Jeez, Joe, remember when we did this 25 years ago."

Joe looks around, and in a spaced-out, drugged-out voice, "No. I don't remember."
