  • Tiger ready to kick some butt

Working hard with a clear mind. Gonna be hard to beat. I call a win here in SoCal.

3 under and 5 back after the first round. Look at "old" John Daly at 5 under. Where will he self destruct?

Two courses at Torrey Pines - South and North. Field plays North/South on Thursday/Friday and then South in 3rd and 4th rounds. South is the hard course, where the US Open was held. It is much, much harder than the North course, where you can go pretty low.

Tiger played the North Course - 69 is no great score there. Of the leaders, only Daly, Mickelson, and Fabian Gomez played the South Course, with 67 there, which is good scoring on the South.

Tiger 3 under after 5 holes on the tougher south course and just 3 back of the leader. yesterdays leader is plus 2 after 4 and tied with Tiger. Lefty is even after 9 holes on the easy course and one back of Tiger. Big John Daly is -2 today after 8 holes and 2 back.

I see Kevin Stadler missed the cut by 6 shots.

Well, we shouldn't be too surprised considering he ran a 1.50.89 800 in Erfurt, Germany on the 22nd

So whose butt did he kick? This was a tournament basically on his home course and he finished =44th. This after 3 months to practice and work on his new swing and get the kinks of 2010 out.

Okokokokok, spin crash and burn is a better description of Tigers game. But you must admit, it was a good finish. Both leftys played well.

Even better, was the Senior Skins game with Nicklaus and Watson kicking butt. And old Jack is 71 now.

Re: Tiger ready to kick some butt

Couldn't Mickelson have waited to take his 2nd shot, until he knew Bubba had made or missed his putt? And then after seeing that Bubba had made it, taken a whack at it , albeit from the rough, to maybe get home in 2 and then PUTT for a tie rather than PITCH for it ?

Having said that it was GREAT entertainment to see Phil's caddie attend the pin... and Phil hit a fabulous shot.
