            The end-of-the-world FAQ sheet

<<As you probably already know, a worldwide earthquake will strike at 6 p.m. (local time) Saturday, May 21, alerting the human race that Judgment Day has begun. Or so says Family Radio president Harold Camping...>

              I like this stuff:

There are a lot of sites like this with ways to leave messages for your loved ones after the Rapture when you have been taken up into heaven and your relatives left behind... one site even says it is run by atheists so you can be assured they will still be here to deliver the messages !!!

In NYC, there's a silver lining to this cloud. Mayor Bloomberg has announced that if the world ends, the City will suspend its alternate side parking regulations.

Great story. There is a huge difference between Reidt and Camping. While both were raging lunatics, Reidt was a true believer in his prophecy, having given up all of his possessions. Camping (or his followers) hasn't remotely done anything of the kind.

Re: No need to mow the lawn this weekend.

Damn it all to hell, no end of world, which means I have to go to the DMV!

Next up 2012 when the world will surely end.

I took a dart, wrote " Death in a handbasket" on it, closed my eyes and threw it at my calendar for the month of May. Squackswami has established that the world will end or kinda end, next Tuesday, probably around lunch time. Send all your money to me and I will tell you how I can stop this tradgedy. It involves lots of cash and pulling the dart out of the calendar.Peace

It is fun to guess what excuse they will have for no doomsday. My guess is it was foiled by, oh who could it be?........could it be

                        SATAN!

Oh else had motive and opportunity? Who wants the madness to continue more then Mr. Lucifer? This proves Satan is more powerful then God, if I was you I would hitch my wagon to a winner.

Curious what is driving this story and it turns out lots of money.

"The former engineer has long predicted the apocalypse, most famously in 1994, but his new date — May 21, 2011 — has received unprecedented publicity. That is thanks to a worldwide $100-million campaign of caravans and billboards, financed by the sale and swap of TV and radio stations....Camping's longtime producer, Matt Tuter] thinks $100 million is a conservative figure for the money Camping has spent publicizing May 21."

Amazing what we waste our money on. But we have our leaders to make sure it gets spent properly.
