    • A dumbass lost his arm, and a tiger lost its life.

The man,who was left seriously injured from the attack, is in his 20s and is employed by a third-party service responsible for cleaning the gift shop and restrooms, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office. He was not authorized to be near the tiger enclosure.

Police said that the man had been attempting to either pet or feed the animal when he put his arm through a second fence barrier. The tiger then grabbed the man's arm and pulled it into the enclosure, the sheriff's office said.
I watched the video, and it bothered me that the cop's first choice was to shoot the tiger in the head, instead of a warning shot or shooting it in the body which might have given it a chance to survive. It wasn't a split-second decision (it was over 30 seconds from spotting the tiger to shooting it), and the cops weren't in danger because they were protected by the fence. They had enough time and safety to make an attempt to scare it with the sound of the gun or injure it before killing it.

There was some opinion in my animal loving home that the weapon was pointed in the wrong direction.

        • I was at a zoo in Asia, looking at a huge Orangutan. My friend was about a foot from the cage when the ape reached out and grabbed his wrist, and held it in a vice grip (thumb and forefinger only) for about ten seconds. My friend claimed he used a wrestling maneuver to wrench away, and he had a bruise for a week. The Ape looked very calm throughout and seemed to be just interested in reaching out and touching someone. As to the Zoo in Florida I've been there often. Once a mother told her young daughter that the Tiger that was looking at her wanted to have her for lunch. The child started crying. Might have been the same Tiger.

My daughter an son-in-law both had the catalytic converters stolen from their pre-2010 Honda Accords cars parked on the streets of Kew Gardens, New York.

            • We have Malayan Tiger's at ZooTampa (male and female) but apparently there was only one in Naples. Zoos can do a lot towards attempting to keep species active and this didn't help.

              • Man Dies After Attempting To Jump New York Subway Turnstile (yahoo.com)

Straphangers who jump turnstiles are generally trying to avoid paying the $2.75 subway fare. Occasionally, riders will also leap the barrier if the turnstile is stuck or otherwise inoperable.

                • For a variety of reasons, I don't think turnstile jumping is a Darwinian move because it is pretty common in a relative sense.

"The ill-fated daredevil took the plunge off the majestic cliff, but seemingly realized his leap wasn’t going to clear the sharp, jagged rocks below that he viciously clipped before crashing into the water while letting out a terrifying scream."

So his gene pool is already infected.

                          • Scientists should start studying the brains of people who Darwinized themselves (if their brains are still intact), like what they've been doing with deceased NFL players. They might have had some CTE-like trauma or other structural defects in their brains that led them to perform fatal acts of stupidity.
