Don't worry. I didn't have a clue either. I just guessed the thing in the middle was a wheel and the words Ashoka Chakra sounded Indian to me. Or is it that Hindu? Or is that Buddhist? Or am I taking a risk here and opening up another Anthony Treacher like discussion topic.

And that will most definitely be wrong because Sikkim became a state of India in 1975!

I had no idea I just guessed that the wheel on the Indian flag was the one GH was referring to.

Anyway, I have now looked it up and discovered that Gandhi designed the original spinning wheel flag but that was not acceptable to the Indian Congress.

India is correct. The Ashoka Chakra represents the laws of Dharma, represented in both Hinduism and Buddhism, both of which began in India.

    Hey, we're back up.

Wild guess to keep things moving: Sri Lanka. I will now go off to check.

Oh, and I bought a new car today. Yay me!

    47. What nation's flag used to have a yarn-spinning wheel in the center but now has the Buddhist Ashoka Chakra, the wheel of law?

<<46. Osaka. Each is the third-largest city in its nation and, at the time the nickname caught on, both were heavily industrialized.>>
