Here's a live foliage map of New England, plus additional things to do in the northeast.

When is the best time to find peak color in New England? Check out our Peak Color Map to find out!

Every legislator, at every level, needs to spend a lot of quality time with those charts. I am ashamed of American lawmakers' moral cowardice.

I must admit that given New Jersey's current fiscal condition, I grimaced when I saw it compared to Argentina.

Notice Dade County, in the extreme NW corner of Georgia. This is near where I live. Lookout Mountain cuts it off from the rest of the state. Most high school teams visiting Dade County High come through Chattanooga and then cut down into Dade. There is no interstate access to the rest of the state without going through another state. They are very sensitive about being ignored by the rest of the state. Had to laugh when they came out with the Georgia quarter because the outline of the state did not have Dade County, which added to their frustration. In many ways, the "Independent State of Dade" lives on.

Hard to tell from the map, but only the Carolinas are intact.

LOL!! Yes I know. I was just being facetious. Hell, I doubt MD20/20 is even wine. I don't think they crushed one grape to make that stuff.

lonewolf, I recall that from the tour also. Very strong aroma.

Yes , Moore County was/is dry. They emphasized that on the tour but I do not remember, or was not interested, in a tasting room.\
When they open the lids on the copper vats it is enough to discourage any teetotaler.

    Made me look!

Celebrate the 100th birthday of Ol' Blue Eyes by toasting with the whiskey he made famous — Jack Daniel's, as he would, with three rocks, two fingers, and a splash of water.

Looked it up. 3/6/94. #2419 on my court house bucket list of 3143 counties
lonewolf, I don't understand how this works, but I'm told that Moore County is dry. However, you can sample whiskey on their tour (for extra fee).

Also, I've heard that Frank Sinatra had a lot to do with making Jack Daniel's famous. Before he would mention it during his shows, it was not that well known. Wonder how true that is.
