Agree - grew up in the state and never heard Massachusettsan but Bay Stater is common

The whole “don’t call it Frisco” thing was, in my opinion, 99.44% Herb Caen (an SF newspaper columnist). I read Herb pretty much every day for about 30 years until he died in 1997. For a long time I bought into that Frisco thing (I was young) but evolved decades ago. Once old farts like me who remember Caen die off no one will care. Rightfully so!

I am very guilty of that. I simply do not fraternize with people of the opposite 'party' any more. It's just way too frustrating, even if politics doesn't come up. America is indeed fractured right now.

Interesting and predictable with some inexplicable exceptions/anomalies... certain counties are overwhelmingly intolerant in both political directions...unrelated to the presumed locally dominant party.
