Went to the most remote sport in (my) Siberia (Anadyr, Russia) and they're playing American pop!

      • if you can't trust National Geographic, who can you trust?

Why your mental map of the world is (probably) wrong
These are some of the most common geographic misconceptions that are both surprising and surprisingly hard to correct.

I was pretty good with knowing most of that, but besides my Siberia misconception, I also had the Africa one, despite knowing where ZeroLatLong is.

          • I don't know how that is possible but it was fun... wonder why stations are clustered in some places and sparse in others

            • I do not think it actually tunes local air broadcasts, but rather it finds online radio streaming on the internet and plots its "home base" on a globe. Stations with no online streaming not listed. A "station" listed near my town only streams online and has no on-air broadcast.

              Nice globe interface, though.

You're correct but pretty amazing to think you're looking at a barren planet, close-up, that is millions of miles (or km) away from us. Amazing science to do that.
