Obviously fleeing the scene so as not to be apprehended immediately, and telling her family she hit a deer, deserves additional consideration too. Tragic situation for all.

She hit a cyclist in broad daylight on an open road (twice now), I wonder if a cell phone is involved?

If I was a cyclist I'd try and find a decent long distance cycle path, being on the roads is like playing russian roulette.

Charges have finally been filed in the hit and run death of Coach Bob Lennon.

Part of the delay may have been because the involved driver's father has been on the Board of Trustees of the Township for many years and was close friends with involved detectives and the prosecutor . The county then removed itself from the case to avoid a conflict of interest. The father is also the person who removed the damaged half of the windshield and transported and discarded it a dumpster at his place of business, prior to contacting authories regarding his daughter's possible involvement. The accused, who's reported to be planning to plead guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and failing to stop after an accident, faces anywhere from no jail time to a maximum of 6 years in prison.

The driver was an amputee with diabetes, depression, bad eyesight, and a questionable driving record, who allegedly wasn't wearing her required glasses for some reason when she struck Coach Lennon, and who also evidently lied several times about what happened. She entered a guilty plea and awaits sentencing.
