A fascinating time lapse look (from space) of how things have changed in the last 30 years. Especially interesting just go down to the map where you can check out your city/state/town and it's changes in the last 3 decades. Quite mind boggling.

Very interesting and informative..really illustrates the growth of urban areas.. Oklahoma City and surrounding suburbs for twenty miles in all directions have congealed into one mass.
Can't see much change in Lone Wolf, OK... except, sadly, most of the native buffalo grass pastures are being plowed and converted to diversified agriculture.
Coincidentally, thirty years ago, Oklahoma City and Marlow's Jacksonville, Fl were vying for recognition as the largest cities in the US in square miles. Oklahoma City annexed wheat fields until remote rural areas started demanding city services.... then started de-annexing..Those wheat fields are now housing developments and small incorporated communites, some surrounded by Oklahoma City.
Dunno if Jacksonville similarly de-annex swampland or how the two cities currently rank in areal extent.

Not counting ridiculously large areas in Alaska - obviously not cities by any workable definition - Jax is indeed the leader.

Anaconda (736 sq mi) and Butte (716 sq mi) MT are the big surprises on this list. They must have their own little contest going on.
Lone Wolf (0.52 sq mi) did not make the list.

Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth all on the list. Those all have same major urban sprawl.
