Unfortunately I remember very well this article in one Serbian newspapers during Paris WCh 2003 , there was a picture with a comment something like "new 100m world champion celebrating his gold medal". The sad thing is it was Darren Campbell on the picture celebrating his bronze medal.
I even managed to find part of it http://arhiva.glas-javnosti.rs/arhiv...03082609.shtml though can't see the comment bellow the pic this time.
Forget Saint Kitts and NeviLs part, even in recent years I've heard commentators struggling to say the country's name when Kim Collins is around, Sigi from Eurosport Germany is leading the table lol

In any event, it looks as if that particular typo has been fixed.

A minor price to pay to not be subjected to the regular tripe of mindless post-race interviews and mute-inducing commentary that is the standard fare when NBC is in charge.

This is from the website of the Courier-Journal of Florence, Alabama.
>>Males and females of my generation remember Bruce Jenner with the utmost respect. He wasn’t the world’s fastest runner, or the best hurdler, distance runner, long jumper, or pole vaulter. Moreover, he likely wasn’t in the top one thousand in the world for any single Olympic track and field event in 1976. He was far from a physical specimen like 400 meter hurdle Gold medalist, Edwin Moses, or 100 meter dash Gold medalist, Don Quarrie. <<
