Probably, but not necessarily. They could get there by way of Shanghai or Chengdu. (I believe the shortest trip in terms of total traveling time involves a connection in Chengdu.)

    • OK, this has nothing to do with track, but it's about as clueless a bit of sports writing as anything I've seen recently:

The All Blacks may have struggled for media attention early in the week, but a sell-out crowd of 61,000 at the home of the NFL team, the Chicago Bears, was too hard for the local media to ignore.

      • Headlines are typically written by different people than the writers of the articles because they have to fit the space available. The piece did identify where the All Blacks are from so it was a mistake by someone that is not necessarily even a sports writer.

        • Yes, but Kiwi would have fit even more easily than Aussie. Bottom line: whoever wrote the headline was clueless.

I'd venture that most Americans think that NZ is part of Australia, an island state as Hawai'i is to us.

                • You misunderstand headline writing. You want to fill the lines, so Kiwi would have been shorter, probably to its disadvantage.

                  • I see by a front page article that the Iowa TJer attested for D&D had a 15.74 foot jump last season, fourt longest in IU history..

See, you did it again...Boone's largess went to OSU, not to the U...although it doesn't seem to be helping much this year.

Ha! read my response again - that's what I said!
[unless U can only refer to oU, not osU]
Is OSU considered a 'college' or 'Jr U'? ;-)
