  • Both former RUSADA heads die unexpectedly Feb 2016

Former RUSADA head (and current chair of their executive council) Vyacheslav Sinev died February 3rd. Official cause of death has not been released. He was the head of RUSADA from its inception until 2010.

His successor at RUSADA, Nikita Kamayev, died recently of what is ostensibly a heart attack. He served as the head of RUSADA from 2011 to 2015.

Does anyone still wonder why the Stepanovs are in hiding?

If there were orders from Putin to cover up doping offenses, these two men would have had been the recipients of those orders.

For heavens sake. This is track and field, is there anything here worth killing and dieing for? The stakes just aren't that high..... Other than Bolt, no one makes a huge amount of money. The meets generally aren't that well, attended. This is no longer the Cold War, it isn't particularly important from a pr/propaganda perspective.

So what if those athletes are drugged to the gills? A couple medals are won on or lost.

It clearly is not just track and field. This scandal affects every Olympic sport in Russia, track is just the first sport to be "exposed" and the WADA IC was limited to only examining track.

But it wouldn't matter if it were just track. If something was in danger of coming out that could make Putin look bad, he will stop at nothing to suppress that information.

Keep in mind that, according to some conspiracy theorists, 17 key witnesses to the JFK killing conveniently died in the first few years after the assassination!!
Including, of course, Lee Harvey Oswald, and Oswald's killer, Jack Ruby!

Car accidents, heart attacks, etc etc!

          Interesting about those Russians!

Those of you that might espouse a conspiracy here, may have black vans in front of your houses quite soon....

Putin may not have played a role in the Kennedy assassination, but he does have a track record. Just ask Alexander Litvinenko...

                Funny--and yet NOT so funny!
Especially for those of us who are fans of the TV show "Madam Secretary".
Their 2nd season is focused in on Russia, with the whole Putin thing.
With names changed, and the story fictionalized, of course!
                LOL

Litvinenko is not the first spy killed after jumping the fence, nor is he the last.

                    Which is, as you mention, a . . . TV . . . show.

As Willie Cicci stated in The Godfather II: "that was no heart attack".

Yes, that's what Putin does. There was an interesting book out about 2 years ago. "Nothing is True and Everything is Possible: the Surreal Heart of the new Russia"

So Putin is actually stupid enough to have two RUSADA chefs killed within a month, giving the western press the opportunity to shout FOULPLAY? If Putin was that stupid, Pussy Riot would have died of "natural causes" a while ago.

If I were inclined towards conspiracy theories, I would put this together with Dick Pound's weird backtrack on the "wow factor" non-report and decide he had dirt on Putin and that either his or his family's safety was threatened. (For the record, I think about 1 in 100 CTs have some basis in reality...but about that 1%...)

Well he had a spy killed with polonium... I don't think subtle is his style. This is just another chance to say the western media is picking on Russia and full of conspiracy theories.
