  • Softball, baseball at Olympics

Was looking through the program for Tokyo linked by ND on the main page. Softball and baseball are listed as proposed sports. Does that mean they will be in the Olympics? I really enjoyed watching softball. Baseball not as much. Sport climbing could be an interesting event.

OK, those sports will be in. Just looked at the second link.

It doesn't matter whether you or I like either sport. Just that the Japanese do. They are good Bb players and I assume good at Sb too? When IOC ended Bb a few O's ago I thought it was for a good reason.

If Sweden fields a team (and qualifies), we could see the Duplantis brothers in two sports at the Olympics!

I guess I was the last to know, but yes, Armando "Mondo" Duplantis' older brother Antoine is an outfielder for the LSU Tigers, who lost the College World Series to my Florida Gators a couple of hours ago.

I would love to see men's fast pitch softball in the Olympics, but with these changes: 5 men on a team, 3 fielders and the pitching-catcher combo. Fielders can be located anywhere. Remember Eddie Feigner "The King and his court"? They played with four.

Could be very competitive and it is a great show to watch.
