Another 50th anniversary....Hurricane Camille

While folks were doing their thing at Woodstock, Hurricane Camille was doing it's thing to the Gulf coast, making landfall late on August 17th, 1969.

Horrific damage in Mississippi. We drove through there after the storm and it looked like nothing else I can remember.

Went looking at the Louisville Courier-Journal for August 18, 1969, the day after Camille hit. It was quite the front page.
1. Hurricane Camille
2. "A stream of tied, hungry, and thirsty youngsters began leaving the Woodstock Music and Art Fair yesterday...."
3. "Cape Town, SA. Dr. Philip Blaiberg, the world's longest surviving heart transplant patient, died yesterday, 594 days after receiving the heart of a mulatto."
