Re: Canseco: McGwire, Giambi, Palmiero, etc used steroids
The article states Canseco introduced Palmiero to the performance-enhancers when Canseco joined the Rangers in 1992. Nothing about Palmiero actually taking anything, as Canseco is purported to have stated regarding McGwire and Giambi.

No, he was just showing Palmiero how to do it for informational purposes. Although Palmiero's home run production increased significantly after '92, he would never use them.

Re: Canseco: McGwire, Giambi, Palmiero, etc used steroids
Sports Business Journal:
"Palmeiro, a 15-year veteran nearing the Hall of Fame-worthy plateau of 500 home runs, stepped up to the plate for Viagra. He accepted the $500,000 endorsement fee, the pills and the potential stigma of becoming the first player to admit that "his bat was corked."
Isn't one of the side effects of steroids.......

Re: Canseco: McGwire, Giambi, Palmiero, etc used steroids
So, like, is Canseco debunking the theory of the "live" ball in our country's past time as being the primary reason the home run production increased in recent seasons?
I, for one, am shocked.
Without steroids and the live ball, what is going to be on the news at 11 o'clock?"Who's Kidding Who?"

hmmm, viagra also increases blood flow to extremities (not only that one), that should make it illegal to use, as there is a performance benefit in the sack and at the plate.

Re: Canseco: McGwire, Giambi, Palmiero, etc used steroids
From Tues.NYT: "The CBS program "60 Minutes," which planned to do a report on Canseco on Feb. 20, will now broadcast it on Sunday. That will be the first time Canseco, the colorful and controversial former major leaguer, publicly discusses what is in his book.
'I will give a huge press conference, internationally and worldwide, when the book comes out,' he said. 'I'll answer any questions then."
This guy will make Conte sound like a genius.

>Kudos to Canseco, Caminiti, and Bosworth for having the stones to admit that
>they and large number of others used PED's!
Did anyone see one of ESPN's analysts stating "baseball's new tough drug policy..."
That's a laugh, I at least thought baseball would use 3 strikes and your out. But they would rather use 4 balls before you have to take a walk. (4 positive tests before a player is banned for the season.) But with one test a year that could take 4 years before any real suppesions occurs.
Their tough policy is that suspensions are served without pay, now.

I guess the "Giambino" is going to talk today sometime: whether he will say anything of interest is another matter.
